Getting to Know Master IPC, Justin Harrison

Justin was first introduced to essential oils 12 years ago

and feels grateful for the exhilarating sense of empowerment

they have given him to take care of most any health

condition that his family encounters.  Sharing with others

the wonderful benefits of essential oils, Justin and Keri

were the first in the history of dōTERRA to become

Founders’ Club members.

Early on his career, Justin was introduced to the power

of network marketing. He built a substantial organization

very quickly and continued to help others achieve

financial freedom for five years until such time that the

company collapsed due mismanagement.

At that time, he decided to test the waters in the corporate world.

Justin spent the past seven years working with

independent distributors to promote health and abundance

around the globe for one of the largest essential oil retailers

in the world. Many of the greatest experiences of his life

happened during those years, as he was given the ability

to do what he loves—help people achieve their dreams. It

also allowed him the opportunity to gain an intimate

understanding of the true power of essential oils.  He

joined dōTERRA in March 2008, and his life has never

been so good!

Justin and Keri are the parents of four rambunctious boysand reside
in Mapleton, Utah.

Product Testimonial

I have severe allergies. I am horribly allergic to animals, pollen and mold. When I moved into a house with two cats, I woke up every night with an itchy throat, itchy eyes, runny nose and my larynx became inflamed.

After being frustrated with the results of Zyrtec, Clariten and Nasonex, I decided to turn to essential oils. I put two drops each of peppermint, lavender and lemon in a capsule and swallowed it before bed. That night, I slept through the night and woke up without puffy eyes! I have been using the oils for a week and have had amazing results without any side effects from the prescription drugs I previously used. dōTERRA oils are amazing!

Essential Oils in the News

The scent of peppermint or cinnamon in your car might make your morning commute less frustrating and you more alert when behind the wheel. That's according to the results of a recent study led by Dr. Bryan Raudenbush, an associate professor of psychology at Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, WV. According to the study, drivers demonstrated decreased levels of frustration, anxiety and fatigue when exposed to peppermint and cinnamon scents. T

he study also revealed that drivers were more alert.

The results of the study, Effects Of Odor Administration On Driving Performance, Safety, Alertness, And Fatigue, were presented at the recent Association for Chemical Reception Sciences Conference in Sarasota, FL.

The study builds on Raudenbush's past research, which indicated the odors of pepperm

int and cinnamon enhance motivation, performance, and alertness, decrease fatigue, and serve as central nervous system stimulants.

"Given these results, it is reasonable to expect that the presentation of peppermint or cinnamon odor while driving may produce a more alert and conscientious driver, and minimize the fatigue associated with prolonged driving," says Raudenbush.

In the present study, participants were monitored during stimulated driving under three odor conditions (peppermint, cinnamon, non-odor control). Odors were added to low flow oxygen (1.3L/min) via an oxygen concentrator and presented at the rate of 30 seconds every 15 minutes. Subjective measures of cognitive performance, wakefulness, mood, and workload were also assessed.

"In general, prolonged driving led to increased anger, fatigue, and physical demand, an

d decreased vigor. However, fatigue ratings were decreased in the cinnamon condition. Both cinnamon and peppermint administration led to increased ratings of alertness in comparison to the no-odor control condition over the course of the driving scenario. Periodic administration of these odors over long term driving may prove beneficial in maintaining alertness and decreasing highway accidents and fatalities," says Raudenbush.
